In 2004 during a Mathematical modeling class I got my knickers in a twist over the issue of HIV-AIDS funding model. I was thinking in the context of a low income-middle income economy typically found in Africa. I posited a National Insurance fund developed on Control Theory Principles with multiple controls. My mentor Dr Kgosimore liked the idea and we agreed on a collaboration. Then competing interests took over. But over time I worked on Stochastic Controls( not sure that they exist) and it is this problem that led to the formation of my two companies, ImartOffice Consultants and Kometsi Telecommunications.

In Botswana insurance premiums continue to be high and unaccessible even to middle income earners. Part of the reason is lack of expertise in our local market. Products are developed from outside and dumped on us. Couple this with the middle-income stigma we carry companies see our market as very liquid albeit small. We intend to normalise this anomaly.
